This journey started when a couple of years before Leo was born I decided to go back to playing drums. With the help of a guitar playing buddy, started the blues trio Teasing' The Cat. When Leo was born this was in full swing. Playing shows around Seattle and a regular weekly rehearsal schedule. As time went by Leo became more and more involved playing his own little kit at 3 and eventually sitting in at shows for a song or two at 5. This became a weekly session for Leo and I in our home studio. He on drums and me on acoustic guitar. Our twice a week sessions were hardly ever missed. Along the way I wrote more and more songs to give us a vehicle to call our own and teach Leo about writing, arranging and eventually recording. So over the years (he’s 20 now!) we have built a library of a couple dozen songs of which we have decided to record and document into four song volumes (attention span is low these days, Not ours but in general…). Volume 1 is some of the more basic blues numbers with cautionary tale type lyrics. The next volumes will start to open our palette of music diversity. We have 3 more volumes all planned and prepped. It’s been and continues to be a magical and blessed ride, this Father and Son.
